What we collect, why we collect it, and who sees it. Short, because there is not much.
Effective 20 October 2026. Version 1.1.
On this page
1. Who we are
Mina House is a one-person, in-home dog boarding business in Yorba Linda, California, run by Anthony Lin. When this page says “we” or “I”, that is who it means. There is no marketing department and no data team — just me and a laptop.
This policy covers minahouse.dog and everything that happens when you book a stay.
2. What we collect
Only what a stay actually needs.
- About you — your name, email address, phone number, and the city or ZIP you are coming from. If you ask for pickup or drop-off, your address for that trip.
- About your dog — name, breed, age, whether they are spayed or neutered, food, medication, routine, temperament, and any history of biting or aggression.
- Vaccination records that you upload — usually a photo or PDF from your vet.
- Your vet, and an emergency contact with their phone number.
- Booking and payment details. Card payments are handled by our payment processor; we never see or store your full card number.
- Basic website data — pages visited, roughly where in the world you are, and what kind of device you used. This is ordinary analytics and is not tied to your name.
We do not buy lists, scrape contacts, or collect anything about you from anywhere else.
3. Text messages and calls
Your phone number is collected when you request a meet-and-greet or a booking, and when you give it to us directly.
There are two separate kinds of message, and you choose them separately:
- Messages about your booking — confirmations, drop-off reminders, daily photos and updates, and anything urgent about your dog. These are part of the service.
- News from Mina House — occasional notes about holiday availability and the like. This is a separate box, it starts unticked, and leaving it alone does not stop you booking.
We do not share your mobile number or your text-message consent with anyone, for any purpose. Phone numbers and SMS opt-in data are never sold, rented, or passed to third parties or affiliates for their own marketing. They are used by Mina House to reach you, and nothing else.
Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to opt out, or HELP for help. You can also just tell me — by email, by text, or in person — and I will take you off. We honour opt-outs as soon as we can and in every case within 10 business days, as the FCC requires.
Opting out of news does not stop messages about a booking you have made. If you want those to stop too, say so and they will.
4. Photos of your dog
Photos and short clips of your dog are taken during a stay and sent to you. That part is the service, and it is not optional.
Showing any of them publicly — on this website or on Mina House social media — is a separate permission, asked for on its own line in the boarding agreement rather than bundled into your booking. Ticking it is entirely up to you, and declining changes nothing about your booking or your dog’s stay. If you do agree, your name and your dog’s name are not published unless you tell us otherwise.
Change your mind at any time and the photos come down. You do not need a reason.
5. Who sees it
We do not sell your information. Not to anyone, not ever.
It is shared only with:
- Our payment processor, to take payment.
- Our booking and messaging software, which stores your booking and sends the messages.
- A veterinarian, if your dog needs care during a stay — your dog’s details and your contact details, so they can treat your dog and reach you.
- Anyone the law requires, which has not happened and I hope never will.
6. How long we keep it
Booking records, including the agreement you accepted and when, are kept for four years after a stay. That is deliberate rather than lazy: it is the window in which a payment dispute or a claim could still arise, and those records are what would answer it.
Vaccination records are kept while your dog is boarding with us and for a year afterwards. Analytics are kept in aggregate and are not tied to you.
7. Your choices
Ask us at any time to:
- Tell you what we hold about you.
- Correct anything that is wrong.
- Delete it, apart from what we have to keep for tax or dispute records.
- Stop texting or emailing you.
- Take down a photo.
Email [email protected] and you will hear back within a few days. There is no form to fill in.
Mina House is small enough to sit below the thresholds of the California Consumer Privacy Act, so those formal rights do not technically apply here. We do the above anyway, because it is how anyone would want to be treated.
8. Keeping it safe
Your information lives in password-protected accounts with two-factor authentication turned on. Card details never touch our systems. No one who does not need to see your information sees it, which in practice means no one but me.
No system is perfect, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If something ever did go wrong with your information, you would hear it from me directly.
9. Children
This site is meant for adults booking dog boarding. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you think a child has given us something, email me and it will be deleted.
10. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, the date at the top changes and the version number goes up. Anyone with a booking in progress will be told.
